Megan has been my doula for both my girls. Once in 2018 and most recently in March of 2020. She has been a great help both times, though this last time she couldn’t accompany my spouse and I to the hospital due to hospital rules during the pandemic. But she helped me labor at home and offered to assist virtually at the hospital (baby came so fast we didn’t have time to FaceTime once we were in the hospital). She has an amazing bag of tricks she left with us a few weeks before the due dates to assist in labor and walked us through using all of them at home. She helped my spouse learn how to help me while laboring too. The tools were a great help when I was laboring at home and on the way to the hospital both times. She was an advocate for me at the hospital and worked well with the staff. She helped ease my nerves and did a great job trying to ease my pain during contractions. It was so helpful to have her meet with us before the birth a few times to discuss our wishes and concerns and then closer to labor. She continually checked in on us after we returned home, too. She also really helped me out with babywearing and let me borrow a few different styles to figure out what worked for me. She introduced me to a carrier that I LOVE so much I buy it for all my new mom friends. I am so grateful that I had Megan help me through my pregnancy and birth of my daughters.

We contacted Megan for postpartum care after the birth of my son to help me out once my husband finished his initial paternity leave. At first she came, just about everyday to help around the house and give me time to take a shower. She also helped look after him while I needed to attend a weekly medical appointment, even tagging along and taking care of him just outside of the doctor's office to help reduce my anxiety. Megan always made sure that I was well fed and hydrated, and taught me lots of useful stuff about babywearing and any other parenting questions that I had. I am very grateful that we found Megan, and had her help.

Megan prepared the placenta capsules for me and her service was personalized and prompt. A few days after my baby was born, I realized that my husband did not place the fresh placenta in the freezer and it had been in our fridge for the whole time. I was concerned about whether it was too late to make placenta capsules. I called my birth doula and she connected me with Megan. Megan came to our house very soon after that to pick the placenta. Once she had the capsules made, she tried to deliver it to my house as initially scheduled. She was delayed by her other work (maybe a client was in labor), but she made the best effort to reduce the delay by delivering the capsules to my door sometime at night when we were sleeping. The capsules came with beautiful placenta print artwork, cord keepsake and a card with a sweet message specific to my birth experience. Her personalized service and hard work brought comfort and pleasure to the initial period of my postpartum days and reduced my stress. Thank you Megan!

My wife and I contacted Meg and invited her to our home for an in-person interview for post-partum doula services. Although we ended up not hiring a doula due to my wife recovering more quickly after that (although if we were to do it again, we'd hire a doula for both the birth and a few weeks after), Meg was great with both mother and child. It was clear she had a wealth of expertise and training, and was warm and understanding while giving useful and welcome advice. Several months later, despite having not hired Meg (or any other doula) in desperation after missing out on a couple of quality nannies, I reached out to her in hopes that she had resources for finding another one. Meg not only responded right away, but went out of her way to write up a job posting on our behalf and refer us to a nanny search site she had recently used. Meg is truly passionate about getting new moms and families the care they need. Knowing how much she helped us without us ever being a client, I'd advise others to not hesitate in paying for her services, as she is a high-quality professional who cares deeply about her work and those who she works with.

I'm so grateful I found Megan! I was looking for someone I could trust to turn my placenta into pills I could take after giving birth. I did a fair amount of research and found that Megan was affordable, came highly rated, and additionally did the placenta art (which is so so cool)! We had our baby boy at Alta Bates Hospital and Megan was more than happy to come from Fremont to pick up the placenta, turn it into pills and a tincture, and bring it back to our home in Oakland. Though we didn't use her as a doula (I had a kidney stone while pregnant which sucked up our extra cash), I know she must be wonderful. She continually checked in on me while I was pregnant and has continued to do so six months after. She always offered an ear if we needed one, and it was nice to know I had someone so caring in my life around that extraordinary time. If you are looking for placenta pill services, I can't recommend Megan highly enough. She made everything effortless, which is just what you need with a newborn!
